The Alignment Structure provides varying levels of involvement and leadership, engaging a wide range of stakeholders in different ways. This structure also provides sustainability, ensuring broad involvement that insulates the organization from changes in leadership in any one stakeholder group.

While each AUSA community/region adapts their structure to fit their own needs, they all include the following basic components:

Board of Directors/ Governing Board: Transformational Leaders at the highest level in the community/region who achieve the organization’s vision of success.

Operating Board: Action-oriented leaders who are evangelists for the Alignment system and ensure Alignment Teams are effectively aligning community resources to support the long-term community outcomes.

Alignment Teams: Collaborative community leaders that are innovative problem solvers and are influential in the community, their field, and their own organization.
