The Mississippi Afterschool Network works to better our state and its communities by connecting providers, parents, and policymakers with proven tools and resources to increase the quality of and access to high-quality programming.
The Mississippi Statewide Afterschool Network envisions a state where all children have access to high-quality, safe out of school time programming that supports successful academic and positive social outcomes for students, parents, schools, and communities.
Afterschool programs help children and families access the resources and relationships they need to thrive, which supports broader efforts to promote equity in communities across the state.
The future of our children and communities demands we bring the best of ourselves. Working collaboratively to provide more opportunities for children will allow Mississippi to develop afterschool programs that benefit from our collective expertise, lived experience, and concern for the wellbeing of our children.
Sustainable afterschool programs require a diverse network of community supporters and partners committed to assessing the needs of children and families and identifying untapped community resources. We work to ensure these committed stakeholders have the tools and training they need to build and sustain high-quality afterschool programs.
