Anisha Grimmett Named Executive Director of Alignment Rockford

Rockford, IL - Alignment Rockford has selected Anisha Grimmett as its new Executive Director. Grimmett replaces Bridget French, now the Executive Director of College and Career Readiness for Rockford Public Schools.
Grimmett is an Auburn High School graduate and proud RAMM scholarship recipient. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology from DeVry Institute. She previously worked for UTC Aerospace Systems for 20 years in various engineering and leadership roles, and most recently in Human Resources launching a new global leadership development program for UTC Aerospace Systems.
With Grimmett’s arrival, Alignment Rockford will restructure its working teams to continue to focus efforts on the greatest strategic needs of Rockford Public Schools:
- Healthy Starts – aligning our regions exceptional early childhood resources, promoting participation among families with the greatest need, and providing every child the advantage of kindergarten readiness.
- College and Career Awareness – ensuring students and parents are informed and engaged with college options and career decisions as they prepare for life after high school.
- Pathways – coordinating relationships, credentialing, and support for college credit attainment as students progress through high school and into career-aligned post-secondary training or further education.
“Grimmett’s prior experience leading teams, solving problems, planning projects, developing and refining processes, and applying the tools of continuous improvement have prepared her to lead the structured approach used to create collective impact applied by Alignment Rockford,” stated Bob Guirl, Alignment Rockford Governing Board Chairman. “We remain strongly committed to supporting the ongoing work of the College & Career Academies of Rockford, ensuring robust workplace-based experiences for our students.”
Grimmett will concentrate her efforts on the development and implementation of early childhood initiatives with the Healthy Starts team, focused on improving outcomes for all children birth to five years old. Her first day with Alignment Rockford is October 2, 2017.
